Meer Taqi meer

Introduction

The real name of meer taqi meer was Muhammad taqi. His father’s name was meer Muhammad ali but he was famous as meer taqi due to piousness. Meer taqi meer was born in 1723 at akbar abad (Aagrah). He came Dahli. Then he come to lakhano due to the bad condition of Dahli. Now he is called the imperial of ghazals. The poetry of meer taqi meer has pain and lot of conditions of sadness. The ghazal is the basic reason of his famousness. He died in 1810 at lakhnao.

Concept of pain:

He is called the poet of pain and sadness. He said

“ mujh ko shaer na kaho keh meer sahib ham ny

Dard o gam ketny kiy jama to diwan kia”,

He felt at every step that he was less important, hopeless and incomplete due the behavior of the society. That was the basic reason of his starting poetry.

“ jis rah sy wo dil zadah deli sy nikla

Sath os ky qiamat ka hangama rawaan tha”

He showed the pain of life in these words………………

“nah dardmandi sy yeh rah tum chaly warna

Qadam qadam py thi yaan ja e nalao faryad”

Showing the condition of his hopeless in life he said……………………….

“khah mara enheen ny meer ko

Jany do yaro! Jo hona tha hoa’ mat pocho!”

He described his pain in poetry when he come from the street of his lover…………………

“yoon othy os ki gali sy ham

Jaisy koi jahan sy othta hy……

“rekhtah keh tumhen ostad ni ho ghalib

Kahty hain agly zamany me koi meer bhi tha..”

Pankhari ek gulab ki si hy………”

“kahta hy dil keh aankh ny mujh ko kia kharab

Kahti hy ankh keh dil ny mujhy khol dia……………..”

“marg e janoon sy aqal gum hy meer

Kia diwany ny mot pai hy……………………………”

“ashak ankhun me kb nahi ata

Lahu ata hy jb nahi ata…………….”

“ishq krty hain os pari ro sy

Meer sahib bhi kia diwany hain………..””

“kia haqiqat kahu keh kia hy ishq?

Haq shanasaon ka to khuda hy ishq…………….”

“ishq sy ja nahi koi khali

Dil sy arsh tak bhara hy ishq…………”

“aur tadbir ko nahi koi dakhal

Ishq ky dard ki dawa hy ishq……………..”

“dil ajab nuskha e tasaowuf hy

Ham na samjhy bra tasof hy………”
